I have been thinking about your post and your dad since I read your thoughts. I felt safe with him too when I was flying with him. He was a very exacting person with everything he did and his life. He went too soon for so many of us. He needed more time to just relax and enjoy himself and his family and friends as he had worked so hard for so many years.
I remember that cap! I felt safe with him too; on a bike trip, in the plane, at your house putzing around waxing our bike chains. He had a calm steadfast energy, was straightforward, smiled easily and couldn’t hide the twinkle in his eyes. My mom passed when she was 76 too. She had a similar depth and kindness. Perhaps they are smiling now, inside us.
The Bish was a rock. He was so grounded in his life and his beliefs. He loved his girls so much and was so proud.

Thank you; yes. He was still learning so much. He loved his granddaughters. He never stopped smiling when he was around them.
